Filipino-American professional boxer and former world champion in four weight classes, Nonito Gonzales Donaire Jr. takes a break from his training and flew to the Philippines with his wife so they can attend the turn over ceremony of the 100 homes to the victims of Typhoon Yolanda.
After leaning that the homes were ready for the turnover, Donaire took a quick break from his training and flew to the Philippines last Wednesday. The next day, Donaire and his wife went to Iloilo for the turnover and headed back to Las Vegas on Saturday night.
Back in 2009, Donaire also donated P1 million via housing program to the victims to typhoon Ondoy.
Together with English philanthropist Greg Secker, Donaire started the year 2018 helping the typhoon victims.
“While still in the beginning of my career, I gave wholeheartedly as much as I could to build housing for Ondoy victims.
Now it’s 2018, I’m doing it all over again. What a great way to start the year by giving back with the amazing efforts and coordination of the Greg Secker Foundation to give 100 homes.”
