P5.2-Billion Taguig Integrated Terminal Exchange (ITX) to Begin Construction in July 2018

The the highly anticipated construction of the Taguig Integrated Terminal Exchange (ITX) which is worth around P5.20-billion is set to begin by the second half of the year or on July 2018 and is expected to start operation by first half of 2020.
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) along withe the government's private partner Ayala Land Inc., (ALI) broke ground of the P5.20-billion PPP project on Wednesday, January 17, 2018.

Sec. Arthur Tugade of the Department of Transporation revealed that the contract for the project which was previously named the Integrated Terminal System (ITS) but later renamed into the ITX under the Duterte administration was signed by the government and ALI on January 26, 2016, under the admin of former Pres. Aquino.
Under the said agreement signed by both parties, ALI will undertake the design, construction, and financing of the ITS South Terminal which will be located within a site area of 4.7 inside the Food Terminal Inc. (FTI).
The Taguig ITX will connect passengers coming from the South of Manila such as from Laguna and Batangas to other transport systems such as the Philippine National Railways (PNR), and other public utility vehicles.
The project initiated by the Aquino administration but be fulfilled by the Duterte administration will also include passenger terminal buildings, arrival and departure , public information systems ticketing and baggage handling facilities, and park-ride facilities.
Sec. Tugade also clarified that the Duterte administration asked for a new set of terms from its private partner Ayala Group, before proceeding with the project, effectively causing the delay.
