Duterte gustong maka‘one on one’ ang ICC Prosecutor “I welcome you. And if you want to find me guilty, go ahead. So be it,”

Ninanais ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na makipagpulong nang personal kay Fatou Bensouda, ang prosecutor ng International Criminal Court (ICC), matapos ang desisyon na magsagawa ng preliminary examination sa reklamo laban sa kanya.

“I hope you come. And I hope that we can be together in a room. I would ask for that rare privilege of talking to you. the two of us in the room with no [one else],” ani Duterte sa press conference sa Davao City, na pinatutungkulan si Bensouda.

Magsasagawa ng inisyal na pagrerebyu ang ICC na nakabase sa Hague, sa isinumiteng 77-pahinang communication ng abogadong si Jude Sabio noong Abril 2017, kung saan nakadetalye ang pagkakasangkot umano ng Pangulo sa summary executions noong alkalde pa ito ng Davao City.

Sa pahayag na inilibas ni Bensouda noong Pebrero 8, maingat umano niyang pag-aaralan ang alegasyon laban kay Duterte na paglabag nito sa human rights sa war on drugs, sa ulat ng SunStar.

Sakop kasi ng pagsusuri ay mula nang maupo si Duterte bilang pinuno noong Hulyo 2016.

“Specifically, it has been alleged that since 1 July 2016, thousands of persons have been killed for reasons related to their alleged involvement in illegal drug use or dealing,” sabi ni Bensouda.

Bukas naman umano ang Pangulo sa gagawing preliminary examination.

“Go ahead and proceed (with) your investigation,” anang Punong Ehekutibo.

“I welcome you. And if you want to find me guilty, go ahead. So be it,” dagdag pa nito.
