Doctors for Public Welfare (DPW) recently said that the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) should stop performing autopsies on suspected Dengvaxia victims in the attempt to find links among the deaths that can be attributed to the vaccine.
Former Health Secretary Esperanza Cabral is leading this request saying that the 14 dead children that were checked by forensic pathologists in the Philippine General Hospital did not even find reasons to link the death to the vaccine.
She added that 13 of those cases were not related to the vaccine, and the one case was only deemed to be “casually” related with Dengvaxia.
“In two of the children autopsied, it was noted that vaccine failure may have been the case. This means that no antibodies were produced so they could not have suffered from an antibody enhanced reaction,” the group pointed out.
DPW said that the cases can also be that it analyzed that the vaccine was diluted so it would seem like the children were never vaccinated at all.
The group also said that the claims of PAO forensic expert Erwin Erfe was “practically wrong”.
“It makes no sense for any more families to be subjected to the torture of having a loved one exhumed and cut up only to find out that no useful information was derived from the cruel act,” said the group.
“We urge the Department of Justice (DOJ) to order the PAO to stop performing autopsies on these children and to leave the matter of determining the cause of death to competent forensic pathologists,” it added.
